Updated: Attached the final version of the edited kext here. Many thanks to @mirone for editing and helping me to learn the process of editing Applehda.kext. Hey guys, this is still a work in progress. I don't have an external microphone so I cannot say much about the external line In. Please if anyone with a mic can test it and report, it would be great.

First off, thanks to Mirone from olarilla for his help in this respect and to Micky1979's thread on editing the AppleHDA Kext and other sources out there. Here is a working AppleHDA.kext for HP dv6 Laptops. This difference between this kext and the one for HP Probook 4530s is that the nodes in the dv6 are all interchanged. This one is based off Micky1979's kext. After numerous attempts on fixing this, Mirone finally gave me a kext in which the node for int speakers was still 13 as in hte Probook series.

I just changed it to test it out. To node id 15 as in our dv6 laptops. Finally after almost 3 weeks of reading and asking for help.

Internal Speaker, line out, internal microphone. For external mic, I need someone with a mic to test and report it. You need a proper DSDT patched to get this to work with layout id 12 and your pin config inserted as per this guide. Link to modified applehda.kext My guide to installing on a HP dv6 will be online soon in a day or two. It is next to perfect on a machine I had easily given up on a year ago. IS there ANY way around this. I've tried to follow the guide but it seems a bit to complicated for me at times.

When I tried it out all I got was one kernel panic after another I have the IDT 92HD81B1X5 drive on the probook 6560b. Has anyone got a way around this or at least something easier. After this is all said and done, if i do happen to get everything patched; What do I do with the kext? Konica Kext wizard wasn't much help. I am at a loss, I really would like to get sound working as soon as possible. IS there ANY way around this. I've tried to follow the guide but it seems a bit to complicated for me at times.
